Associate Banks Officers’ Association (ABOA) was founded on 26th November, 1967 at Head Office of State Bank of Hyderabad. Though ABOA was registered as a Unitary Organisation, with it’s Registered Office at Hyderabad, it is virtually a defacto Federation in its functioning with seven independent Units in the seven Associate Banks of State Bank of India. The responsiveness to the national and social cause while working for the improvement of the Service Conditions of Officers has been the hallmark of functioning of ABOA. The ABOA. represents over 20,000 Officers in all cadres in seven Associate Banks. It is an apolitical and independent Trade Union, led by serving Bank Officers only. The ABOA is one of the strong Affiliates of All India Bank Officers’ Confederation (AIBOC), a principal bargaining agent for Officers in the country at Industry level and also stands affiliated to All India State Bank Officers’ Federation (AISBOF), a mighty Officers’ Trade Union, covering the entire membership in State Bank of India.

The Central Office of A.B.O.A. is presently at Bangalore. The aim of A.B.O.A. is to achieve through constructive cooperation with the Management, maximum efficiency in banking operations, high quality customer service, development of human resources, modernization of systems and procedures, prevention of wasteful expenditure and frauds and to generate stable and harmonious industrial relations. A.B.O.A. continues to play its effective watchdog role to protect the interest of the Associate Banks and its membership.Founded on 26th November 1967, ABOA Hyderabad Unit has emerged as a strong Officers’ Trade Union and a pride Unit of ABOA. It is the only recognised Association for the entire membership of 5000 members in the State Bank of Hyderabad. The Unit consists of 14 Office Bearers and 48 Managing Committee Members including two nominated lady representatives. President, Vice-President, General Secretary, Organising Secretary, Treasurer and Asst. Treasurer are placed at the Head Quarters of the Bank whereas the 8 Secretaries are placed at the Zonal Offices/DGM headed Regions of the Bank. All the Office Bearers and the Managing Committee Members constitute the Units Managing Committee.

Our Unit runs a Cooperative Credit Society on sound lines for the benefit of its membership. The unit owns Two Guest Houses, one situated at Hyderabad having 5 A/C rooms besides two big halls and the other at Tirupathi having 6 Non A/C rooms apart from a lounge. With a view to improve the personal resource of the membership, workshops/training programmes are conducted in the Guest House building, besides providing accommodation to the Officers visiting Hyderabad on personal works.

As a part of our deep concern to the society we have been conducting various community service activities viz., blood donation camps, eye camps, helping orphanages, old age homes, literacy programmes etc.
